The Lenovo ThinkPad Edge Laptop is expected to be released into the market by the end of 2009 or early 2010. This lightweight laptop is supposed to have a 13.3” high definition display. There are reports that 2 versions of the ThinkPad Edge will be released - one with an AMD processor and the other with an Intel processor.
Again, for the AMD processor, there is supposed to be a choice between Turion X2 L625 1.6GHz processor and Athlon Neo X2 L325 1.5GHz processor. Even the Intel gives a choice between Pentium SU4100 1.3GHz and Core 2 DUO SU7300 1.3GHz processors. Other features are expected to be common with a 4GB RAM, a maximum of 500GB hard drive, Windows 7 OS, with 32-bit and 64-bit options. WiFi and Ethernet connectivity are both supposed to be offered.
Even Bluetooth and WWAN might make it into this laptop. GPS support is anticipated too. Three USB ports, a media card reader, an HDMI output and a webcam are also expected to be present in this notebook. The battery is said to be either a 4-cell or a 6-cell one.
